At Tymberwood Academy, two of our highly skilled teachers (Miss Waterworth and Miss Mills) created our 'Writing Skills Overview' using the National Curriculum as an end goal.  The 'Writing Skills Overview' clearly shows the progression of skills required from Nursery to Year 6.  

Within our writing lessons, the success criteria (the steps needed to be taken to be successful in achieving the learning objective) are broken down in to 'genre specific' and 'general writing skills'.  

In September 2021, we created and established our own verbal pathways for letter formation - this ensures that there is a consistent approach to how letter formation is explained throughout a child's time at Tymberwood.
