Young Carers
At Tymberwood we recognise that some families we have young carers. Young carers are deemed as young people, under the age of 18, who look after or help to look after a family member (including siblings) who have a disability or long term illness.
We work closely with 'Kent Young Carers' and also provide our own in school support which includes emotional and well-being support as well as an after school Young Carers Cooking Club. During the club, children learn to cook some healthy meals, hygiene standards and cooking safely. In addition to this, they also feel like they are able to talk to others who understand what it is like to be a young carer. If you feel that your child(ren) fall in to this category then please do contact Mrs Mehmet and we will ensure that support is given to your child as swiftly as possible.
