Learning and achieving together

We are ambitious for our children and have high expectations for all. Our broad, rich and ambitious curriculum builds knowledge, inspires curiosity and encourages children to think, question and explore. We want our pupils to experience success, embrace challenge and develop the perseverance to keep going when learning is difficult.

Reading is at the heart of our curriculum. We know that learning to read confidently and fluently opens the door to the wider curriculum and provides children with foundations that will benefit them throughout their lives. Alongside this, we want children to discover the joy of books and develop a genuine love of reading.

We also believe that some of the most memorable learning happens through experiences. Our wider opportunities, including 11 Before 11, help to broaden horizons, build confidence, raise aspirations and ensure our children have rich and memorable experiences throughout their time at Tymberwood.

A school where everyone belongs

Tymberwood is a proudly inclusive school. We recognise every child as an individual, with their own strengths, experiences and needs, and we are committed to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to participate, achieve and succeed.

Our Specialist Resource Provision for pupils with physical disabilities is an important part of our school community. Alongside this, we support children with a wide range of additional needs across the school. Inclusion at Tymberwood means maintaining high expectations while identifying and removing barriers so that children receive the support and opportunities they need to flourish.

Most importantly, we want every child to feel that they belong at Tymberwood.
